Turning a grass lawn into a moss lawn 1

 So today 15 Feb 2024. I collected some moss from a nearby forest. I basically pull them out in patches, then pat it back so the moss can regrow again easily. 

Turning our grass lawn which uses a lot of water and effort (plus gasoline) to mow. It has been something I have been thinking about for a long time. 

As you can see the moss is very green and fresh. There seem to be a lot different varieties all knitted together. It's very beautiful and I will take more photos and close ups. 

Here is the front lawn I am experimenting with. 

There are a lot of bare patches. 

I dig up a bit of soil then place it on top. some of them I add some muddy soil on top to make it adhere. will see if this works.
